Satsvarupa dasa Goswami
While working as a welfare worker on New York City's Lower East Side, Satsvarupa dasa Goswami, then Steve, one day entered the humble storefront at 26 Second Avenue he passed every day. It changed his life because there he met Srila Prabhupada, who soon became his spiritual master. Satsvarupa dasa went on to become one of the first students initiated into bhakti-yoga by Srila Prabhupada. He later served as Editor-in-Chief of Back To Godhead magazine from 1969-89.

He has written over seventy books over the years--books of poetry, memoirs, essays, novels, and studies based on Vaishnava scripture. His Srila Prabhupada-lilamrta is a classic.
